AMONG POINTS, ALONG LINES

Installation of silkscreened monoprints on paper, single-channel video monitors, animations and sound.
Collaboration with Sarah Klein.
AMONG POINTS, ALONG LINES is comprised of two editions of monoprints (WEAVE and POLAR) with animations and sound. Working from patterns derived through sound visualizations on a video synthesizer, Kwan and Klein set about various transformations in the monoprinting process. Through coloring and layering, they produce serial monoprints of variegated forms. The monoprints are animated to reimagine the originating patterns and sound. The work reflects crossover interests in experimental animation, visual music and printmaking.
